Přesto je každoročně zrušeno přibližně 10 % velkých fúzí a akvizic a 70–90 % z nich končí neúspěchem. Úspěch nestojí na tabulkách, ale na lidech. Podle 95 % vrcholových manažerů je firemní kultura základním předpokladem úspěšné integrace a 25 % ji uvádí jako hlavní příčinu selhání. Klíčovým faktorem je, jak lidé rozhodují v každodenních situacích a zda je vedení schopno cíleně řídit změny.
