Employers from all regions of the Czech republic except Prague can start submitting their requests to join the "Educate for stability" project, the so-called "Czech Kurzarbeit", from Monday 17 Septemer. Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, therefore, issued a manual that describes the steps the applicants should take both before the application and after its eventual approval.

"The goal of the project is to preserve jobs for employers who are in temporarily difficult economic situation and temporarily unable to assign work to their employees in the agreed scope due to the negative development of the economy in the Czech Republic," states the ministry.

The project will be financed from the Human Resources and Employment Operational Programme and implemented through labor offices until 31 August 2015. 400 million Czech crowns have so far been allocated for this project. The same amount is expected to be released after the evaluation of the project. It offers employers the option to gain money for the professional development of their staff including a contribution to the wage costs. The duration of this financial support is set at 6 months with a possible extension to 12 months. It will be possible to obtain a maximum of 31,000 Czech crowns including levies monthly per employee.

The manua,l which is available on the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs here, consists of five chapters:

  1. What is the "Educate for stability" project and for whom it is intended

  2. Conditions for obtaining contribution

  3. Submission of an application

  4. Activities after the approval of the application

  5. Rules for providing contributions

It is also accompanied by the necessary forms to download.
