Why to hire more moms?

Mothers are remarkable for high levels of organization, they manage to do more things at once and do not waste their time. The times when women returning from maternity leave did not have sufficient education and expertise are gone. Isn't it therefore more beneficial to hire two mothers with young children who are experts in their fields but have less time a week instead a full-time generalist?

More and more experienced and qualified mothers on the labour market report difficulties in finding organizations to hire them on flexible contracts. This is detrimental not only for the mothers, but also for the companies. The question is what  comanies are going to do.

Stacey Epstein, experienced Marketing Manager who tried flexible working while raising her children and offers the same to the women in her team, summed up the reasons why companies should hire mothers on Inc.com. "Out of 12 reports, I have five moms with kids under five, and I guarantee you the jobs are getting done," says Epstein. The arguments to hire more mothers on flexible contracts are obvious according to her:

  • Work results are more important then hours.

  • Mothers do not waste time with minor details and go straight to the point.

  • Part-time mothers may exceed one full-time employee.

  • Mothers bring more flexibility and work-life balance into your corporate culture.
