Recruitment

According to HR Morning, seeking new employees and recruiting them is one of the most obvious and also most important tasks of an HR department. A good recruitment manager not only posts job ads online, but also has many other relevant sources and databases from which they acquire suitable candidates for vacant positions.

Termination

On the other side of this process, at its end, is termination of employees' contracts. Dismissing someone in a legitimate way is no simple task: it requires steps that should not be underestimated, ones which the representative of the HR department must know in detail.

Retention of employees

Retention of quality employees and improvement of their expertise. These are also tasks of the HR department which are becoming increasingly important, especially given today's shortage of people on the job market. With this task go hand in hand such things as taking care of company culture, employee satisfaction and building of team spirit.

Administration and bookkeeping

There are many duties that accompany work-related relationships between employee and employer, ranging from the obligation to archive certain documents to registering employees at appropriate government offices, payment of taxes or submission of pension insurance payment records. Beyond a certain size of company, fulfilling all the duties of HR administration and bookkeeping is often a job in itself for one person.

All procedures kept up to date

The field of labour law is one in which there are frequent changes in the legal system. The task of the HR department is therefore making sure that any procedures being used are in accordance with all current valid regulations and laws.
