10 tips for inexpensive corporate Christmas celebrations

Christmas is approaching and so do the question on how to arrange corporate celebrations that will reward employees for their work and motivate them for the next year. Management Today brought ten tips.

1. Be personal

Personal praise - ideally oral but written as well - can do a lot.

2. Provide financial education

Access to information on how to manage finance will be welcomed by employees especially before Christmas.

3. Go for a drink

Christmas party need not be expensive. Drink with colleagues will promote mutual relations and help to forget about the stressful year-end period.

4. Take advantage of tax benefits

Plan the celebration to take the most advantage of tax deductions.

5. Give symbolic gifts

Gifts do not have to be expensive. A bottle of wine or an extra vacation day could be strong incentives.

6. Announce employee's achievements

Inform about the achievements of individual employees in front of all their colleagues.

7. Decorate your workplace

Prepare internal competition in Christmas decorations.

8. Try "Secret Santa"

Determine a financial limit and let employees draw lots for who buys a gift for whom in that price.

9. Offer discounts to employees

If you cannot afford an expensive celebration, offer employees discounts to local restaurants, shops or sports facilities.

10. Be flexible

Before Christmas offer employees as flexible working hours as possible.
