How to make HR people crazy

Even HR professionals are just human beings who are trying to do their job well. The vast majority of them get no pleasure from firing people or making other unpopular decisions. Also they are not happy when managers try to make HR take on their responsibilities. That is simply annoying.

The topic on how to make HR professionals upset was recently addressed in an interesting article on the About HR website titled How to Annoy Your HR Manager. The article summarized the following triggers that enrage HR professionals that managers and employees should know about. Do you agree with them? What gets you mad?

Its not my fault, HR is to blame ...

- Managers, who have determined to dismiss a member of their team, then ask HR for help with no advanced notification. Then they are surprised that there are no records about the employee's misconduct.

- The inability of managers to respond or submit information via the HR department then repeatedly creating the need for additional communication channels (including face-to-face meetings) to meet specified deadline.

- Managers who communicate bad news to their employees then say that it's the fault of HR. ("I wanted you to earn a higher salaries, but you know HR people, they rejected it ...")

- Managers who make excuses for actions when they do something they themselves do not want to do. ("I'm doing this only because HR told me to do so ...")

- Managers and employees who recommend their relatives or friends as the perfect new employees and expect HR to skip the standard hiring process.

- Managers who believe that all people management issues are HR issues. They create various strategies without taking into account the human side of things and then expect HR to do it retroactively.

- Managers who accuse HR of the increase in the employee sickness rates. ("Why doesn't HR do anything about it?")

Do you also sometimes have to remind your managers that your goal is not to do their jobs?
