While your employees may look happy you surly know that impressions can be deceiving. A healthy corporate culture meets the real needs of employees and goes even further - provides permanent and effective support. If you recognize any of the following symptoms of a typical unhealthy corporate culture, face them directly and look for ways to heal them.

1. You prefer certain employees to others

A team knows very well when you favour somebody. All employees should have equal opportunities.

2. You bypass rules too easily

You give your people time and space to deal with urgent personal matters. That's fine until a low productivity of the few so privileged employees strats to frustrate others.

3. Employees are afraid to take risks

Although you call for finding new solutions, your people do not come with any innovation. This may be a result of your approach to criticise failures.

4. Employees hold a defensive position

Whenever you reasonably notify that something needs to be resolved or improved, employees start to fight back. Perhaps they feel that is not possible to have a frank discussion with their superiors.

5. Employees provide only positive feedback

The absence of criticism is suspicious. Your people can be afraid that you cannot accept criticism.

6. Talented people provide average performance

If your most talented people achieve only average results, they do not get something what they need from you.

7. Customers often complain

The responses of customers reflect the level of your company's care for employees.

8. You learn bad news too late

Customers are leaving your company with complaints that will get to you too late. Your employees are then frustrated with the inaction of the company.

9. The same problems are repeated on your meetings

If you face the same things again and again, it is clear that your problem-solving methods do not work.

10. Family members of your employees do not come to your social events

If you invite them and they do not come repeatedly, they probably do not think anything nice about you.
