Recommendation for agreements between employers and students in the Czech Republic

Based on the requirements of employers, represented by the Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic, Czech Chamber of Commerce, Agricultural Chamber of the Czech Republic and other professional associations, the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports prepared the "Recommendation to ensure a uniform procedure for concluding the contractual relationship between employers and students of secondary or higher vocational schools who are preparing for the needs of a specific employer."

The recommendation is addressed to secondary school students and their legal representatives, students of higher vocational schools and employers. It can also serve as further information for principals of secondary and higher vocational schools as well as other professionals.

"The aim of the measure is to encourage employers to provide pupils and students who are preparing for their needs with high-quality personal, material and technical conditions for practical training, and also motivational benefits," the ministry published in a press release.

The recommendation includes not only a description of the procedure of concluding contracts between employers and students, but also sample agreements for the provision of motivational benefits. Motivational benefits can take the form of merit scholarships, contributions to school meals or travel, accommodation at school facilities or for the purchase of personal protective equipment and other work-related tools.
