Work from home is not a work from the couch

Crowds of workers dream of working from home. They imagine getting up late and spending whole days in pajamas on the couch with a computer at hand. Flexibility is a big advantage of working from home but it also has its pitfalls that should be reckoned. These include especially frequent interruptions in the form of housework, family members or even television. If you can work from home and want to work productively, see the following the rules.

1. Note that there is no single solution for all domestic workers

Everyone must find its own system of work and tools that will enable it.

2. Define your workspace

To be able to separate work from privacy, you will need a separate work area with everything that belongs to it.

3. Schedule every day

Fixed schedule will help you better withstand the domestic interruptions.

4. Determine your priorities

Mark the items on your list of tasks by importance as the first, second and third ones. The first group should include the most difficult tasks and also those that lead to the quickest profit.

5. Reduce distractions

Identify the distractions that divert you from your work and take steps to limit them as much as possible.

6. Feel your energy cycles

Adapt the work schedule to your energy levels in different parts of the day.

7. Schedule time for planning

At the end of each day and week, set aside a short time to clean your desk and plan the following days.
