The Q4 2011 average gross monthly nominal wage in the Czech Republic increased year on year by 2%. It reached the amount of 26,067 CZK, ie. by 502 CZK (2.0%) more than in the fourth quarter of 2010. Consumer prices in this period increased by 2.4%, the average real wage therefore decreased by 0.4. These are the latest numbers published by the Czech Statistical Office.
In the business sphere, the average nominal wage increased by 2.1%, in real terms it decreased by 0.3%. In the public sector, the average wage increased nominally by 1.6%, in real terms it decreased by 0.8%.
During the whole 2011, the average nominal wage was 24,319 CZK, which represents the annual increase of 522 CZK (2.2%). Consumer prices rose by 1.9%, real wage therefore rose by 0.3%.
