Summer tips for increasing employee motivation in call centers

Call centers are hot in winter, let alone in the middle of summer. As the temperature increases, employee motivation decreases. That is why the British portal Call Centre Helper asked call centers leaders to share their recommendations on how to motivate telephone operators during the summer days. We have summarized the most interesting tips for you below.

Don't force employees to wear suits

Allow your agents to wear short sleeves and a more relaxed style of clothes in general, especially during the summer.

Offer flexible working

Employees will appreciate flexible working hours in the summer, so that they can spend more time with their family and children. Consider the possibility of working from home.

Let employees go outside

During the summer, encourage them to visit the customers they normally communicate with only on the phone. Let them attend trainings. You can also organize meetings outdoors.

Install ice cream machines

Place them all over, in the hall, in the staff rooms, and on outdoor spaces used for employee relaxation.

Provide air conditioning and water

If you do not use air conditioning throughout the whole year, at least rent portable air conditioning units for the summer period. Provide employees with plenty of cooling drinks.

Hold summer competitions

Reward summer productivity with special summer prizes such as something cool to eat or drink, extra days off, vouchers for summer events, or various vacation items.

Provide summer survival packages

Equip workplaces with deodorants, tissues, peppermint candies and other useful things your people may need in the heat.
