Returning to work after maternity leave involves sadness and guilt, but also relief and anticipation of new experiences. Mothers must quickly adapt not only to the fact that they have entrusted their child to a kindergarten or a babysitter, but also to being in the process of employment again. The first week after returning plays a crucial role. How to prepare for the first week?

Put on professional clothes

Don't get upset if the clothes that you wore to work before don't fit you anymore. On the contrary, do something nice for yourself and go shopping. Buy a few variants of clothes in which you will feel comfortable.

Don't talk only about children

When your colleagues ask yourself, show them some pictures and briefly tell them about your child or children. Children should, however, certainly not be the main topic of your first week back on the job.

Officially start working on Tuesday

Schedule a Monday for managing administrative formalities and talking to your boss and HR. Then, you can get started without a delay on your first official day.

Let others know about you

Help colleagues get used to your presence at work again. Actively ask for news and get inlvolved in projects. Send e-mail to everybody stating that you are back.
