Comparison: Average salaries of secondary school graduates in the Czech Republic and Slovakia

According to the research of salaries and benefits performed by Platy.cz, the average gross salary of Czech secondary school graduates in 2012 was CZK 17,565. Graduates of second level universities earned on average CZK 7,625 more. In Slovakia, the average salaries of graduates are lower. Slovak graduates earned an average of CZK 15,436 per month, while university graduates earned CZK 6,911 more.

The pay of Slovak secondary school graduates increased the most

If we look at the development of graduates’ salaries since 2008, there is clear growth in all categories of graduates. Since 2008, the average gross salary of Czech secondary school graduates grew by 3.4%, Czech university graduates by 4.7%, Slovak secondary school graduates by 11.8% and Slovak university graduates by 8.2%.

Between 2011 and 2012, the average salaries of Czech secondary school graduates increased by 1.8%, Czech university graduates by 1.4%, Slovak secondary school graduates by 2.9% and Slovak university graduates by 2.3%.
