Unilever wants 55% of women in leadership within three years

The Anglo-Dutch consumer goods manufacturer Unilever announced that it wants to have 55% of women on the posts of senior managers until 2015. Based on the fact that women buy most consumer goods, and will form the majority of its future workforce. Today, women represent more than 75% of all customers of Unilever worldwide, 50% of its talent pool and 50% of graduates, which the company receives.

The number of women in Unilever's senior positions rose from 23% in 2007 to 28% in 2011. The annual internal  survey of managers' opinions on the company called Pulse recently revealed that the number of managers supporting the corporate diversity program has increased by 4% to 83%.

Women now hold 30% of the company's positions of non-executive directors but only one Executive Director position.
