Global HR trends for 2014

What trends will determine the direction of human resources management in companies in the coming year? The Human Capital Magazine summarized, from a global perspective, the most powerful HR trends for 2014. Below are the six directions these trend will take.

Talent intelligence

Organizations will work more with big data. In HR, this trend will be applied to the more frequent use of corporate data for creating both people management strategies and "what-if" scenarios.

HR at the C-level

HR will continue to enter the top management of companies. At the same time, the issue of effective human resources management will become more central to overall corporate strategies.

Mobile devices

Mobile applications will be used more, especially in recruitment. They will help companies save costs involved in searching for and attracting the best talent.

Software as a service

Companies will invest more in software solutions operating on the principle of software-as-a-service (SaaS). These solutions will focus on managing relationships between job seekers and career planning.

Talent management both globally and locally

Talent management will be based more on the principle of  so-called glocalization - manage globally, but execute locally. That will create a greater respect for cultural differences.

Social networks

Social networks will continue to be used primarily for recruiting and communicating with students or other talent pools. They will also be used  more often for employee training and development.
